Langenbeck 21,5cm 40x10mm Retractor is a surgical instrument used to retract tissue. It is named after German surgeon Georg Langenbeck who invented it in 1868. The instrument is made of stainless steel and has two jaws with serrated teeth. The jaws are hinged at the middle and can be opened and closed by a ratchet mechanism. The handle of the instrument is usually slightly bent to provide better leverage.
